Safer Roads - Police seize car being driven on the A41 on the morning of Friday the 1st of March that had expired Tax, MOT and no insurance.

A car was seized by Police in Cosford as it had no insurance and the Tax and MOT had expired.

Safer Roads - Response Officers have successfully seized a car from Cosford at 10:45am on the morning of Friday the 1st of March 2019.

Officers stopped a vehicle on the A41, Cosford. Checks were conducted on the driver and it was discovered that the vehicle had no insurance, the tax had expired in May 2016 and the MOT expired in December 2018. Further checks showed that the vehicle had been being driven without insurance for over three years One of our partner agencies was contacted to arrange the recovery of the car to make the roads a safer place.

Within an hour of Officers stopping the car, it was removed. If the owner wants their vehicle back, they will have to prove that they have insurance, MOT and valid tax, they will also have to show that they have a suitable driving licence and pay at least £150 to the recovery company. The driver of the vehicle has been reported for the driving offences and will be facing the consequences in court.
