Safer People - Report of youths climbing on a roof in Broseley on Sunday the 10th of March 2019 - They have been identified and spoken to by Police.

Two youths have put themselves at risk in Broseley by climbing on a roof.

On the afternoon of Sunday the 10th of March 2019, a concerned member of the public called the Police to report that an hour before they had seen two youths climbing on the roof of a commercial premises in Broseley.  They were concerned for the safety of the children.  The matter was also raised on a local social media site as it was felt that the youths needed to identified and spoken to as they were putting themselves at risk of serious harm.

Local enquiries were able to identify the two males involved and they have been spoken to by the Police and they have been warned about the danger that they were putting themselves in and also the possible consequences of their behaviour.  The children are now aware that a simple slip could have meant that their "adventure" ended up with them in hospital, or even worse.  They are also aware that any damage that their actions may have caused could have resulted in their parents being presented with a bill by the owners of the premises affected. In both cases, the parents were very supportive of Police action.

If you see people putting themselves at serious risk of harm, you should consider ringing 999 to report it.  In circumstances where the danger has passed, but you feel the matter needs to be reported, please call the Police on the 101 non-emergency number.
