Rural Crime - three unidentified males involved in an attempted theft from a van parked on a car park in Tong, Shifnal, on the 12th of March 2019.

Thieves thwarted in their attempt to steal from a van in Tong.

Just before 7pm on Tuesday the 12th of March 2019, a Ford Transit van parked on a car park in Tong by the Bell Inn was targeted by three unidentified males. Using what looked like a screwdriver they were attempting to force open the van doors when the owner of the van was alerted to their activity. The owner rushed outside and the group of males got into a white Ford Fiesta and drove off rapidly. Unfortunately the owner was not able to get the registration details of the Fiesta and due to the time of the evening he was unable to provide a detailed description of those involved in the incident..

Checks are being conducted in the local area to see if there is any CCTV that may have captured the incident, or the Ford Fiesta. This may enable the Police to identify the owners of the car and make further enquiries.
