Theft from Vehicle - Roseway, Wellington

Between approximately 2100 hours on 13/03/2019 and 0630 hours on 14/03/2019 a vehicle parked outside a private residence was broken into and a small amount of cash stolen.

Most vehicle crime is opportunistic and happens as a result of a vehicle being left vulnerable or unsecured for example:
•doors or windows left unlocked
•keys left in the ignition
•personal belongings on display (e.g. handbag, laptop)
•Tools & equipment left in work vans
•sat nav and holder left in vehicle
•parked in a poorly lit areas
•vehicles being left unlocked with engines running to defrost during winter
