Safer Roads - Illegal mini motorcycle being ridden on Wenlock Rise on the 25th & 26th of March 2019.

A group of unidentified riders have been reported illegally riding a mini motorcycle motorcycle.

Section 59

Safer Roads - The Safer Neighbourhood team have had two reports of mini motorcycles being ridden in the area of Wenlock Rise on Monday the 25th and Tuesday the 26th of March 2019.  These motorcycles are unregistered and not road legal.  In addition, the manner in which they were being ridden has caused alarm and distress to local residents.  Mini motorcycles can not legally be ridden on public roads or in any public areas.  Mini motorcycles can only be ridden on private land and only when the owner of the land has given permission for them to be ridden.

Such riding is clearly dangerous and illegal, the safer Neighbourhood Team would like to identify the riders so that they can be spoken to regarding this behaviour.  If they persist in riding illegally in this manner a Section 59 Warning Notice can be issued to them and, if they do not then curb their behaviour, then their motorcycle will be seized by the Police and potentially crushed.

If you know who the people involved in these incidents are, or have any information that may enable the Police to identify them, please call the Police on 101 and refer to incident 0506S 260319.
