Police seize uninsured car with no tax or MOT 1

Safer Roads - Police seize car being driven on the slip road off the M54 at Junction 4 for Shifnal that had expired Tax, MOT and no insurance.

A car was seized by Police as it had no insurance and the Tax and MOT had expired.

Safer Roads - Response Officers have successfully seized a car after stopping it as it left the M54 at Junction 4 and came onto the slip road on Tuesday the 26th of March 2019.

Officers stopped a vehicle and conducted checks on the driver. It was discovered that the vehicle had no insurance and the tax and the MOT had both expired. One of our partner agencies was contacted to arrange the recovery of the car to make the roads a safer place.

Within an hour of Officers stopping the car, it was removed. If the owner wants their vehicle back, they will have to prove that they have insurance, MOT and valid tax, they will also have to show that they have a suitable driving licence and pay at least £150 to the recovery company. The driver of the vehicle has been reported for the driving offences and will be facing the consequences.

You can also report untaxed or uninsured vehicles to the Police on 101. The Police have the power to seize untaxed vehicles in certain circumstances and will do so to help keep our roads as safe as we can.
