Safer Roads - Police arrest driver for drink driving and seize car in Sutton Maddock in the early hours of Thursday the 28th of March 2019.

Safer Roads - Officers have seized a car after arresting a driver who provided a positive breath test in the early hours of Thursday the 28th of March 2019. 

Officers attended a single vehicle Road Traffic Collision in the area of the Sutton Maddock Island.  The driver was asked to take a roadside breath test and was found to be over the legal limit, at which point he was arrested for drinking and driving. 

Officers at the scene contacted one of our partner agencies and arranged for recovery of the vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle has been reported for the driving offence and will be facing the consequences in court.

You can also report untaxed or uninsured vehicles to the Police on 101.  The Police have the power to seize untaxed vehicles in certain circumstances and will do so to help keep our roads as safe as we can.

If you believe that a vehicle is being driven illegally, please contact the Police on 101 with full details of the vehicle and, if possible, the identity of the owner/driver.
