Did you witness an unprovoked assault in Worcester?

Officers are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault in Worcester.

The incident happened at around 4.30am on Sunday (5 May) as a man in his 20s was walking through St John's on the Bull Ring near to the Co-op.

He is believed to have been assaulted by an unknown individual and suffered facial injuries, which are not life-threatening. He was taken to hospital but later released.

There are no descriptions of the individual at this time, however enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen for anyone who was in the area, who witnessed the assault or saw anyone acting suspiciously at the time to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 132S of 6 May.
