Safer Roads - Police seize car in Morville after the driver gave a positive drug swipe on 9th May 2019.

A white Vauxhall Corsa was seized by the Police and the driver arrested on 9th of May 2019.

On Thursday the 9th of May 2019, Police stopped a white Vauxhall Corsa in the Morville area on the A458.  The driver, from Shrewsbury, was asked to take a drug swipe test and this showed that they were under the influence of illegal drugs.  As a result they were arrested for drug driving and the car was seized.

One of our partner agencies was conducted to recover the vehicle and the arrested person will be facing the consequences of deciding to drive while under the influence of illegal drugs.

If you believe that a vehicle is being driven illegally, please contact the Police on 101 with full details of the vehicle and, if possible, the identity of the owner/driver.

If you believe that a vehicle does not have tax, you can use this link to check on the DVLA website, you can also use the link to report vehicles without tax direct to the DVLA.

You can also report untaxed or uninsured vehicles to the Police on 101.  The Police have the power to seize untaxed vehicles in certain circumstances and will do so to help keep our roads as safe as we can.
