Man arrested after fatal collision near Malvern - UPDATE

A man has died following a collision in Castle Morton near Malvern.

Police and emergency services were called to the Robin Hood pub on Gloucester Road shortly around 7.30pm on Friday 24 May 2019.

A blue Suzuki Liana is believed to have struck at least two vehicles outside the Robin Hood pub before coming to a stop.

A man in his 70s from Gloucestershire was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed and the family are being supported by specially trained officers.

A 19-year-old man from Malvern was arrested in connection with the incident. He has been released under investigation.

PC Rose Hughes said: "We have launched a thorough investigation to establish the circumstances behind the collision. Our enquiries are ongoing and we are particularly interested in speaking to the driver of a vehicle who passed the pub moments before the collision.

"We would also encourage anyone who saw the incident to come forward or who has dashcam footage of the moments leading up to the collision.

"Our thoughts continue to remain with the man's family at what is a very difficult time."
