Appeal for witnesses following serious collision on A449 near Ombersley

At around 6.45am this morning (Wednesday 3 July 2019) we received a call from a member of the public that there had been a collision on the A449 northbound toward Kidderminster from Ombersley involving two vehicles.

PC Daniel Bate said: "Air ambulance and ground ambulances attended the scene, treating one man with serious injuries. He was then air lifted to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham where he continues to receive medical treatment.

"Upon arrival, officers closed the road at the exit for Ombersley from the A449 and a diversion was put in place with the southbound carriageway remaining open; there were lengthy delays in both directions. Following recovery of the vehicles the closures were lifted around 9.45am.

"Anyone with any information or who witnessed the collision is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 84s of 3 July 2019, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111".
