Safer Roads - Arrest made following single vehicle RTC on the B4371 out of Church Stretton on the 5th of July 2019.

A man was arrested for drink driving after an RTC on the B4371.

Drink Drive

In the early hours of Friday the 5th of July 2019, a member of the public driving on the B4371 out of Church Stretton came across a mini that had been involved in a single vehicle road traffic collision and was on its side.  No one was with the vehicle, however, an open and nearly empty can of lager was in the cup holder of the vehicle.

Police were deployed and conducted a search in the area, a man was located who admitted that he was the driver.  Fortunately he was uninjured and was able to confirm that there were no other people in the vehicle when he crashed it.  He was asked to take a road side breath test, which he failed.  He was then arrested and will be facing the consequences of his actions in court.

The car was recovered by a partner agency and will require extensive repair.
