Search continues in Shavers End Quarry, Stourport

Police remain at the Shavers End Quarry in Stourport following the report of an 18-year-old man entering the water yesterday (Sunday 7 July).

Police were called at around 8.38pm after concerns were raised for the young man.

Emergency services are in the area and thorough searches are being conducted.

These will continue throughout the day. A cordon has been set up around the surrounding area.

The young man's next of kin are aware and are being supported by officers.

Detective Inspector Jim Hopkins said: "We are continuing the search of the quarry and the surrounding area of land.

He continued: "We would continue to urge anyone who was in the area at the time to provide any information they may have."
