Collision on A5 in Oswestry

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Oswestry on Saturday.

The collision happened around 5.55pm on Saturday (3 August) on the A5 at Aston near the Ironworks Museum in Oswestry. For reasons yet to be established a vehicle travelling eastbound towards Shrewsbury left the carriageway onto the grass verge and collided with a tree on the embankment. It's believed only one vehicle was involved in the collision.

Four people - a 37 year old man, two women aged 34 and 20 and a four year old boy - were taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Enquiries are on-going and police are appealing for any motorists who were on the road at the time, in particular any motorists who may have dash cam footage.
