Concern for welfare, Friars Street , Hereford

Police were called at 6.15am this morning Wednesday, 7 August 2019 after concerns were raised for a man's welfare in the area of Friars Street in Hereford. The man had climbed a crane.

Specialist police officers, fire and ambulance attended the scene.

Friars Street was closed to allow emergency services to effectively manage the incident and the public was asked to avoid the area.

The incident concluded at 08.26hours when following negotiation by specially trained officers, the male made his own way down from the crane. He is receiving medical assistance.
