Officers from South Worcestershire Rural Crime Team joined partner agencies at a farming community event at Spetchley Gardens in Worcester yesterday (Monday 18 September).
Rural crime officers Mick Simpson and PC Steve Chance attended, along with the National Farmers Union, members of the agricultural community, and West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion.
This week is Rural Crime Week of Action and Emma Hamer from the NFU reinforced their partnership with West Mercia Police and offered to arrange more meetings with farmers’ groups and the Rural and Business Officer (RABO) teams in the future.
Rural and Business Officer Mick Simpson, PC Steve Chance, Emma Hamer from the NFU and Jake Freestone from Overbury Estate.
Mick Simpson, RABO for South Worcestershire LPA, said: “The team displayed crime prevention equipment and materials to help the farming community and distributed several Smartwater kits.
“As a result of our attendance, the officers have arranged to visit three farms to complete specific crime prevention surveys.”
