Plane crash in Ahmedabad
The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
A prison officer was stabbed at HMP Long Lartin prison in South Littleton today (Friday 30 May).
Officers were called to the prison shortly after 10am following a report that a prison officer had been stabbed by an inmate.
The 25-year-old sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital where he remains.
The suspect remains within the prison and a weapon has been recovered.
An investigation is now underway.
