I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 3rd June 2019. Please find below the response to your request:
The number of under 18's convicted for drink driving offences in the calendar years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 (up until the most recent point for which figures are available). If releasing figures for all these would exceed the cost or time limits specified under the Act, I would like to receive figures for as many years as possible- beginning in 2019 and working backwards.
The age of the youngest under 18 convicted of drink driving offences in the same calendar years as stated above, with the same qualifications about the cost and time limits.

The number of under 18s convicted of drink driving offences is:
2012 – 14 individuals aged under 18 convicted. The age of the youngest individual convicted was 15.
2013 – 11 individuals aged under 18 convicted. The age of the youngest individual convicted was 16.
2014 – 6 individuals aged under 18 convicted. The age of the youngest individual convicted was 16.
2015 – 2 individuals aged under 18 convicted. The age of the youngest individual convicted was 17.
2016 – 2 individuals aged under 18 convicted. The age of the youngest individual convicted was 16.
2017 – 2 individuals aged under 18 convicted. The age of the youngest individual convicted was 16.
2018 – 4 individuals aged under 18 convicted. The age of the youngest individual convicted was 17.
2019 – 1 individual aged under 18 convicted to date. The age of the youngest individual convicted to date was 17.
Figures are based on the offences RT88007 – Drive motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit & RT88339 – Drive whilst unfit through drink.
