I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 26th April 2021. Please find below the response to your request:
When a dog is seized under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
If an owner is asked to disclaim their dog or voluntarily does so.
1: Do you give the owners a chance to seek advice and to rescind that disclaimer.
2: Where an owner disclaims their dog. Do you have or allow a cooling off period, allowing the owner to rescind it before the dog is euthanized.
3: If so, what period of time do you allow.
