I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 10^th August 2021. Please find below the response to your request:

1. As of 1 August 2021, how many of officers employed by your force had completed the following training:

1. The Specialist Sexual Assault Investigation Development Programme (SSAIDP)
2. The Sexual Offences Liaison Officers (SOLO) course

2. As of 1 August 2021, how many investigations into the following types of crime were open:

1. Total adult rape offences (those with Home Office codes: 19C; 19F; 19J; 19K)
2. Total adult sexual offences (those with Home Office codes: 19C; 19F; 19J; 19K; 20A; 17A; 23; 22A; 88E; 70; 88C)
3. All sexual offences (against both adults and children)

Within West Mercia SOLO training was called STODP Specially Trained Officer Development Programme then was changed to First Responder STO.

Please note: For adult offences it is determined that the victim/s is 18 years old or older at the time of the offence. However there will be anon circumstances where the victims age is unknown. These offences are still accounted for in Question 2c.
