I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 19^th August 2021. Please find below the response to your request:

The Daily Mail reports the following shocking tragedy:

'Police officer, 50, who drove up to 110mph on emergency call before crashing into another car and killing father, 53, is convicted of causing death by careless driving'

The article states that the accident occurred on 28 May 2018.

1. If PC Holloway was suspended on full pay following the accident please provide the relevant dates.

2. Will PC Holloway face a disciplinary tribunal?

3. For the most recent 5 police officers who were convicted of driving offences, please provide details of (i) the offences they were convicted of (ii) the dates they were convicted and (iii) the number of them who faced disciplinary hearings.

4. Of those officers who faced disciplinary hearings which have concluded, please provide details of the outcomes.

5. If any of the5 officers were suspended on full pay, please provide the periods of their suspensions.

Q1

The officers were suspended under Police Conduct Regulations 2012, in August 2016. In February 2018, both officers were found a suitable, non-frontline role on restricted duties. In November 2019, they were further suspended following charge.

Police Conduct Regulations 2012 were superseded by revised regulations in 2020.

Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires West Mercia Police, when refusing to provide such information (because the information is exempt) to provide you the applicant with a notice which: (a) states that fact, (b) specifies the exemption in question and (c) states (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the exemption applies.

The exemption applicable to the information is:
