I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 4th February 2021. Please find below the response to your request:
I simply wish to know how many hate crime victims have used the VAL in the nearly 12 months since it took over from Victim Support.
Reply:-
The Victim Advice Line has directly supported or coordinated support for 357 victims flagged as being a hate crime and report positive outcomes since going live on 1st April 2019. Please note that the Victim Advice Line has not taken over from Victim Support and both services work in partnership to provide both immediate and ongoing support for victims of crime.
