I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 4th January 2021. Please find below the response to your request:
I would like you to provide data on the number of individuals whom West Mercia Police arrested on suspicion of committing a criminal offence in the 2019-20 financial year, who were aged 17 at the time they were arrested (or the time of offence if arrest data is missing), and of those how many had turned 18 by the date when they were charged.
If the number of individuals is not recorded, please provide the number of offences along with the other information requested above instead.
I would also like you to provide the same information for as many preceding consecutive 12-month periods as possible, without exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12 of the Act. For example, please provide the equivalent data for 2018-19, 2017-18 etc. up to (but not exceeding) the point at which the compliance limits identified in Section 12 would be reached.
