I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 3rd June 2021. Please find below the response to your request:
I am requesting the number of police officers that have committed suicide whist employed as a police officer in your force for the following years: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 (up to 03/06/2021). Please could the number of deaths for each year be provided separately if held.

No information held. West Mercia Police does not specifically record the cause of death of employees.
However, in order to assist, I can advise that national data on recorded suicides are broken down by profession and published by the Office of National Statistics (ONS), with their latest publication covering 2011-2019 registrations.
