I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 11^th May 2021. Please find below the response to your request:

I wondered if you could provide some background information on the Police National Network (PNN) email system? I understand as part of the Government Secure Intranet (GSi) retirement programme PNN is being removed from police email addresses.

1) Why is PNN being removed?

2a) Please can you confirm if your Force has removed the .pnn element from your email address? (For avoidance of doubt, I am asking, is your force email address now name [at] force.police.uk as opposed to name [at] force.pnn.police.uk ?)

2b) If not, are you planning to remove it or not.

• The PNN domain is being retired as a primary domain in line with the national enabling programme where forces will be using the Police.uk domain as its primary email domain.
