FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 130532
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 8th November 2021. Please find below the response to your request:
I'm trying to find out whether West Mercia Police Force has any specific policy or guidance on supporting and/or safeguarding LGBT victims of domestic violence, that is published and available for police officers and/or police staff to access? I'm only looking for LGBT specific policy, not general domestic violence policy.
Reply:-
All West Mercia’s Domestic Abuse Policy and procedure is inclusive as it specifically incorporates all members of the community regardless of sex, gender or sexual orientation.
To support this approach overt links are on force systems guiding colleagues to Galop for additional guidance and advice.
West Mercia Police supported LGBT+ Domestic Awareness Day on 28 May 2021
