Please could you provide any data you have around assaults against police officers for your constabulary covering the last five years. Assaults to include serious and also minor assaults, if recorded, as well as the policy relating to when an assault against an officer in the line of duty is recorded, reported and prosecuted.

West Mercia Police do not have a specific policy relating to assaults on officers when on duty. Any assault on police officers (or staff) is treated in the same way as any other assault. i.e. if a crime has occurred then a crime is recorded and investigated accordingly.
