1. Apart from legislation, such as the Misuse of Drugs Act, I am seeking information on what training new recruits / serving officers receive about illegal drugs.

For example, they will know that Heroin is illegal, but what training are they given about heroin as a drug (and other drugs)?

West Mercia Police deliver the National Curriculum for Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship and Degree Holder Entry Programmes. This details legislation around controlled substances and officers are encouraged to explore issues through problem solving.
