I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 30th August 2023. Please find below the response to your request:
- Please could you provide me with the cost (per unit) to your force of the following pieces of equipment / software:
- Turnkey general purpose patrol vehicle
- Compact High performance estate vehicle
- Motor cycle helmet
- Single set motor cycle road policing protective jacket and trousers
- Mobile phone unit - upfront handset cost (issued to a uniformed officer)
- Laptop digital forensics examination IIOC case
- Laptop digital forensics non-IIOC case
- Bicycle for operational policing
- Baton (response / neighbourhood officer)
- Initial Analysis and extraction of Data of a mobile phone (between 4-16GB) in a turn around time of 28 days
- Microsoft software subscription
- Norton internet security (or applicable anti-virus software)
- Subscription to secure cloud based software

- Please could you provide me with the cost (per unit) to your force of the following pieces of equipment / software:
- Turnkey general purpose patrol vehicle - Toyota Corolla Patrol car – Purchase cost £20491.56 + VAT, Conversion £1775.00 + VAT (all parts free issued to converter).
- Compact High performance estate vehicle – Volvo V90 CC RPU car – Purchase cost £31366.04 + VAT, Conversion £3075.36 + VAT.
- Motor cycle helmet - Motorcycle Helmet - £620.00 & Visor - £111.98.
- Single set motor cycle road policing protective jacket and trousers - Motorcycle Trousers - £875.00 & Jacket - £1041.66.
- Mobile phone unit - upfront handset cost (issued to a uniformed officer) - £221.00.
- Laptop digital forensics examination IIOC case – West Mercia Police do not have different laptops for IIOC/Non-IIOC cases, however a DFU laptop would generally cost approximately £6K.
- Laptop digital forensics non-IIOC case - West Mercia Police do not have different laptops for IIOC/Non-IIOC cases, however a DFU laptop would generally cost approximately £6K.
- Bicycle for operational policing - £1530.62 (electric).
- Baton (response / neighbourhood officer) - £149.50 – refurbished - £119.60.
- Initial Analysis and extraction of Data of a mobile phone (between 4-16GB) in a turn around time of 28 days – No information held.
- Microsoft software subscription - £337.82 per person and this includes anti-virus.
- Norton internet security (or applicable anti-virus software) – As above.
- Subscription to secure cloud based software – West Mercia Police have access to a number of cloud based systems, all of which are at different costs. Where an average unit price is not held, West Mercia Police are not required to create such in order to comply with the request. West Mercia Police do not hold data down to this level.
