I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 17^th January 2023.  Please find below the response to your request:

?:    1. (a) How many West Mercia Police officers are currently under investigation by West Mercia Police following allegations of misconduct or criminal activity – (b) how many of these are for allegations of sexual offences such as sexual assault or rape?

2. (a) How many West Mercia Police officers are currently on restricted duties due to investigation by West Mercia Police following allegations of misconduct or criminal activity  - (b) how many of these are for allegations of sexual offenses such as sexual assault or rape?
3. (a) How many complaints are currently being investigated against West Mercia Police officers following allegations of misconduct or criminal activity - (b) how many of these are for allegations of sexual misconduct such as sexual assault or rape?
4. In the last 2 years, how many West Mercia Police officers have been disciplined or dismissed following allegations of sexual offences such as sexual assault or rape?
5. In the last 2 years, how many officers have left West Mercia Police through resignation or retirement following allegations of sexual offences such as sexual assault or rape?
6. In the last 2 years, how many serving or former West Mercia Police officers have received criminal convictions for sexual offences such as sexual assault or rape which were committed while they were employed by West Mercia Police (regardless of whether or not they were on duty when the offence was committed)?

West Mercia Police holds the requested information.

1.

(a) How many West Mercia Police officers are currently under investigation by West Mercia Police following allegations of misconduct or criminal activity

• 57 Officers subject to live allegations of misconduct cases (not complaints).

(b) how many of these are for allegations of sexual offences such as sexual assault or rape?

• 24 Officers subject to allegations of sexual misconduct across our misconduct cases, including stalking/harassment and inappropriate sexual behaviour/comments

(a) How many West Mercia Police officers are currently on restricted duties due to investigation by West Mercia Police following allegations of misconduct or criminal activity

• 28 officers on restricted/suspended duties.

(b) how many of these are for allegations of sexual offenses such as sexual assault or rape?

• 11 officers restricted/suspended subject to sexual misconduct allegation

(a) How many complaints are currently being investigated against West Mercia Police officers following allegations of misconduct or criminal activity

• 337 complaints that are live, sub-judice or cases under review.

(b) how many of these are for allegations of sexual misconduct such as sexual assault or rape?

• 5 complaints with allegations of sexual misconduct towards officers

4. In the last 2 years, how many West Mercia Police officers have been disciplined or dismissed following allegations of sexual offences such as sexual assault or rape?

• 7, including stalking/harassment and inappropriate sexual behaviour/comments (includes would have been dismissed).  This is based on finalised misconduct cases only

5. In the last 2 years, how many officers have left West Mercia Police through resignation or retirement following allegations of sexual offences such as sexual assault or rape?

• 3, including stalking/harassment and inappropriate sexual behaviour/comments (does not include would have been dismissed).  This is based on finalised misconduct cases only

6. In the last 2 years, how many serving or former West Mercia Police officers have received criminal convictions for sexual offences such as sexual assault or rape which were committed while they were employed by West Mercia Police (regardless of
