I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 28^th June 2023.  Please find below the response to your request:

We would like to request information about stolen caravans and motorhomes.

I am requesting a yearly breakdown of the total number of stolen caravans and motorhomes reported to your police force during the past four years.

Can you provide me with:

1. A yearly breakdown of the total number of caravans and motorhomes reported as stolen.

Could you please provide a breakdown for the past four years, including 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022? (alternatively, please provide the statistics for the financial years 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 if that’s easier)

Number of thefts of Motorhomes, Campervans and Caravans reported within West Mercia between 01/01/2019 & 31/12/2022:

Caveat: There is no separate property type for Caravan, Campervan or Motorhomes within our local recording system.  In order to find the above results, a search has been completed of the incident summaries for the terms Caravan/caravan/CARAVAN and Camper/camper/CAMPER, Home/home/HOME and Motor/motor/MOTOR listed within the incident summary and discounted those where Caravans, Campervans & Motorhomes were not stolen or no attempts were made to steal them, for example where items were stolen from inside the caravan.  If a different term was used to describe the caravan, Campervan or Motorhome or if indeed no description was included within the incident summary, these will not be included in the results.
