I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 4^th May 2023.  Please find below the response to your request:

1. As of the 30th of April, 2023, please answer the following:

How many officers and staff within your force have pending criminal court appearances?**

How many of those officers and staff that have pending criminal court appearances have NOT been charged with any sexual offence eg Seven officers have pending court appearances, and 6 of them are not for sexual offending? 

Please also disclose the following:

For each of the officers and staff who have a pending court appearance

Please confirm if your press office put a press release before the officer's or staff members' first appearance at the magistrate's court. eg nine officers have court appearances, seven press releases were sent to the media*

Please also disclose the following. Between 1sst January 2022 up to and including the 31st December 2022

How many officers and staff from your force in total  have had criminal court appearances e.g. ten officers and staff had a criminal court appearance**

* A press release for the purposes of this request can also be taken to mean also information placed on the force website.

** A criminal  court appearance should be taken to mean the person was a defendant

• As of 22/06/2023, 6 officers and staff have pending criminal court appearances.

2. How many of those officers and staff that have pending criminal court appearances have NOT been charged with any sexual offence eg Seven officers have pending court 

    appearances, and 6 of them are not for sexual offending? 

• 6 have pending court appearances, 2 of them are not for sexual offending
