I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 2^nd October 2023.  Please find below the response to your request:

I am interested in obtaining detailed records concerning the number and breeds of dogs that have been seized under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act in the United Kingdom for the month of July 2023 and August 2023. 

Please provide the following information:

1. The total number of dogs seized under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act in the month of July 2023 by the breed or type of the dog. 

2.  The total number of dogs seized under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act in the month of August 2023 by the breed or type of the dog. 

Reply

1.  In July 2023 there were 10 dogs seized under Section3. The dogs were as follows: 2 XL Bully, 2 unknown breeds, a staffy cross, a bull breed cross, a Belgium Malinois, Staffordshire bull terrier, bearded collie and Caine Corso.

2. In August 2023 there were 11 dogs seized under Section 3. The dogs were as follows: 3 American Bully, 3 Bull Mastiffs, a rottweiler, a Caine Corso, a Belgium Malinois, a golden retriever and a Staffordshire bull terrier.
