I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 29th September 2023. Please find below the response to your request:
> How many sites you have where there are fixed position speed cameras for the detection of speeding motorists as of 1 September 2023 (or as recently as available data exists)
> How many notices of intended prosecution were issues in relation to these cameras in financial year 2022/23
> The number of a) fixed penalty notices issued and b) speed awareness courses carries out as a result of the operation of these fixed position cameras
> Which fixed position camera site was responsible for issuing the most notices of intended prosecution in financial year 2022/23. Please state the position of the camera and number of notices issued.

There are currently 30 fixed camera sites, which includes both directions between A449 Ombersley and Hartlebury, and both directions on M5 between junctions 4a and 6.
During the period, there were 2 temporary sites on M5 between junctions 6 and 7 for road works. These road works were completed Apr-23 and the camera sites are no longer operational.
In the 12 months between April 2022 to April 2023, there have been 68,853 Notices issued for speed offences at fixed camera sites.
66,471 Notices offered a fixed penalty option
30,369 fixed penalty offences have been resolved by the offender attending a course.
The fixed camera from which the most Notices were issued is at A518 Trench Lock with a total of 10,357 Notices issued for the year Apr-22 to Apr-23.
