I am requesting information on planned recruitment campaigns and targets for any entry route, including the number of officers you are seeking to recruit for each role advertised. In addition, I am requesting information on the total number of officers already recruited for each entry route.
- the current recruitment targets for the following entry routes;
- Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP)
- Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA)
- Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) – DC and PC
- Pre-Join Degree
- In addition the number of officers recruited through these routes between April 2023 and March 2024.

- Information on planned recruitment campaigns
West Mercia Police do not have any specific planned recruitment campaigns however we are continually advertising for police officer recruitment via social media and the website. Recruitment has been continuous since the Uplift programme started in 2019. We also are represented at career, apprenticeship and other appropriate events to raise awareness of recruitment routes into joining West Mercia Police as an officer.
- The current recruitment targets for the following entry routes, please note there is no limit on the number of applications that can be received.
- Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) 24/25 is 50
- Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) 24/25 is 70
- Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) – DC and PC 24/25 is 50
- Pre-Join Degree 24/25 is 10
- The number of officers recruited through these routes between April 2023 and March 2024.
- Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) 23/24 is 0
- Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) 23/24 is 66
- Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) – DC and PC 23/24 is 80
