I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 13th August 2024. Please find below the response to your request:
I would like to submit a freedom of information request to determine the outcome of a number of Operation Snap submissions that have been processed this year.
I submit another request for the first 20?
In each case I was advised by the Police Officer or other decision maker that an offence had occurred, and the driver of the vehicle in question would receive either:
1. An education course
2. A fine and licence endorsement
3. The case would be passed to Magistrates’ Courts
We have subsequently been advised that on some occasions the TPU disagrees with the officer assessment, and then the driver is not contacted and no further action is taken.
