Police dogs are continuously training due to Home Office license requirements; therefore, we have a different team on scheduled training each week. In regard to new dogs being initially trained, then currently at todays date the answer is 0.

All our dogs are purchased from breeders / rescues / members of the public in the UK. They may have sourced the dogs from the EU.

If a police dog during it’s operational career is withdrawn from service for inefficiencies it is usually several years down the line and we find them a suitable new home. That figure for the period 2010 – 2024 is 13, this includes Alliance figures, the force’s alliance ended in October 2019.
