I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 19^th December 2024. Please find below the response to your request:

Thank you for the reply in regards to Senior PCSO could I clarify three points on the job profile you kindly provided me with.

Point One on the job purpose who are the identified high demand communities in the Bridgnorth District Point two who are the seldom heard communities in the Bridgnorth district.

Point three on the main responsibilities its states that local resources are managed effectively could the local resources element be explained. The reason for this is that on the initial reply it stated that senior PCSOs do not have any direct control over PCSOs. The other reason for this question is that I would not want our PCSOs to be removed to other high demand areas (if there are any) within the Bridgnorth District.

No information held however the role profile provided relates to the post which exists across all 5 Local Policing areas in West Mercia. There are currently no high demand communities in Bridgnorth.

1. who are the seldom heard communities in the Bridgnorth district.

No information held however seldom heard communities in Bridgnorth (as well as other rural towns and villages across Shropshire) include LGBTQ, BAME and Disabled communities and other communities or individuals who often experience structural inequality and face barriers to public participation and engagement.

The other reason for this question is that I would not want our PCSOs to be removed to other high demand areas (if there are any) within the Bridgnorth District.

The Head of Shropshire SNT is responsible for delivering an effective Policing service which will inevitably evolve as the challenges faced by the police and public change. Whether the Senior PCSO becomes involved in matters away from their previous beat area is one that has to balance against the changing face of crime and disorder in order to deliver effective policing services across the entire Policing area.

Although the Senior PCSO does not have direct authority to order PCSO’s to undertake work, the Head of Shropshire SNT may use them to disseminate communications required.
