I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 20th February 2024. Please find below the response to your request:
How many cases involving allegedly discriminatory or offensive whatsapp messages your PSD dealt with in 2021, 2022 and 2023?
Can you provide a breakdown of whether these were dealt with by a misconduct meeting or misconduct hearing, and the associated outcomes (e.g. no further action, reflective practice, written warning)?
If possible, can you provide a list of case references so that I may make specific enquiries about some cases if necessary?

This return is based on finalised conducts that were recorded and finalised in 2021-2023.
Misconduct meeting 3 x officers receiving written warning and Reflective practice for 4 x officers.
Misconduct Hearing 2x officers dismissed.
Regarding your request for the breakdown in years and specific information for the cases the below exemption is being applied.
Your request for information has been considered in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the Act”), and I am not obliged to provide the information requested.
The following exemption is applicable to the information requested:
S.40(2) is an absolute, class-based exemption and therefore there is no requirement to evidence harm or conduct a public interest test.
In accordance with s.17(1) of the Act, this acts as a Refusal Notice.
