- How many people does the West Mercia Police currently have classified as Released Under Investigation (RUI)
As at 16/08/2024 the number of people currently released under investigation is 3434.
These are custody records with:a status of ‘On Police Bail’ with no cancelled date on the record or an RUI disposal linked to a live case which is not a court case
- What is the average length of time that people remain classified as RUI by the West Mercia Police?
The average length of time that people are RUI is 228 days (as at 16/08/2024)
These are records which are finalised or the status is re-arrest & there is a cancelled date on the record. Records with a finalised status but no cancelled date on the record are not included. Records which have an RUI entry simply to generate a postal requisition are also not included. (bail granted, bail cancelled & postal requisition custody record entries made on the same date).
