I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 11^th November 2024.  Please find below the response to your request:

Please would you be able to provide me with data to answer the following questions:

1. What proportion of the total police budget resource is allocated to investigations related to fraud.
2. What proportion of police time is allocated to investigations related to fraud.
3. The proportion of total reports to the force that are related to fraud.
4. The proportion of investigations the police take on that are related to fraud.

In relation to questions 3 and 4. All reports made to police which meet the definition of a crime in line with the Home Office Crime Recording Standards are recorded and an investigation will take place. Therefore, the number of reports made, and the number of investigations completed are the same.
