I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 18th November 2024. Please find below the response to your request:
From the 1st January 2021 to the 1st November 2024 how many reports of drug use in schools did West Marcia Police receive. Please divide the data up into four categories - 1st January 2021 - 31st December 2021, 1st January 2022 - 31st December 2022, 1st January 2023 - 31st December 2023 and 1st January 2024 - 1st November 2024.
If possible, I would also like information on what the drug(s) involved in each incident were.
Please also include how many of these reports led to confiscation of drugs.

Caveat: Although our crime recording system has a field to record location type, it is not a mandatory field. Therefore, a key word search (School, College, Academy) has been used within the offence location field to identify relevant offences, with results reviewed any which were obviously incorrect, ie School Drive, School Street, College Hill, removed. If one of the listed keywords is not within the location field, then it will not be included within these results.

- The above data is shown by Primary Full Offence Title which includes the name of the controlled substance if known.
Please also include how many of these reports led to confiscation of drugs.
- No information held. Drug confiscation is not recorded in a searchable field within our crime management system. Drug seizures are recorded on a separate property management system however there is no common reference between the two systems and there is no way to search for seizure location in the property management system.
