I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 29^th November 2024. Please find below the response to your request:

Would you be able to provide the number of incidents on each of the top 20 roads over the last three years?

West Mercia Police hold the information in a postcode format.

The data below is taken from Incident recorded information not from crimes, this could include a variation of incidents such a traffic collisions, trees fallen etc.

The address field contains the whole address, the only part of the address which we can extract is the postcode. If we were to draw through the whole address, due to the number of logs, this would be difficult to review as there is no standard format to how the address is entered especially where there are flats, or house names we therefore would be unable to extract the name of the road with any accuracy. We have therefore provided a list of the 20 postcodes which have been listed as the location on the most number of incidents in the last 3 years.

Of the 708351 calls listed for the three years, 23193 calls did not have a postcode listed, this could be because the postcode was unknown for example an incident that occurred on a A or B road where only landmarks are used to describe the location. These logs have been discounted.
