I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 21st August 2025. Please find below the response to your request
I wish to submit a Freedom of Information request regarding the percentage pay increases awarded to Police Officers and Police Staff over the past ten years.
Additionally, I would be grateful if you could confirm whether there is any formal or informal agreement in place that governs the relationship between Police Officer and Police Staff pay.

Police staff pay is decided through negotiations between the Police Staff Council’s employers and trade unions, leading to a national pay spine.
Police officer pay is ultimately set by the Government, but the Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB) makes recommendations based on evidence submitted by various bodies, including the Home Office and Police Federation.
