Caveat: The Pet Abduction Act 2024 was enacted in August 2024, prior to this date there was no specific offence title for the theft of cats, we have therefore completed a keyword search to collate the information for all cat theft offences. The use of a key word search to identify offences means that the search may not return every relevant offence as it requires the officer recording the offence to have used one of these words within the free text fields searched. Therefore, it should be noted that our response should not be used for comparison purposes with other forces or quoted as being official statistics.
