I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 2nd June 2025.  Please find below the response to your request:

 

Please may you provide me with:

1) The number of offences under Clause 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 reported to West Mercia Police since 1st January 2024

2) The total number of charges for summary offences under Clause 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 brought by West Mercia Police since 1st January 2024; and the number of convictions resulting from these charges.

3) The number of cases relating to offences under Clause 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 referred to the Crown Prosecution Service by West Mercia Police since 1st January 2024.

West Mercia Police hold some of the requested information.

 

Section 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 was not introduced until 31/01/2024.  Therefore, data is provided information from the date that it was introduced and NOT from 01/01/2024 as requested. 

 

  1. The number of offences under Clause 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 reported to West Mercia Police since 1st January 2024

  1. The total number of charges for summary offences under Clause 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 brought by West Mercia Police since 1st January 2024; and the number of convictions resulting from these charges.
