I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 13th November 2025. Please find below the response to your request:
Would it be possible to obtain the data for Shropshire, excluding Telford and Wrekin please?
I would be grateful if you could provide the following data for the most recent full calendar year available:
The number of domestic abuse cases recorded by West Mercia Police which included stalking as a factor.
The number of Stalking Protection Orders (SPOs) applied for by West Mercia Police.
The number of Stalking Protection Orders granted by the court following applications made by West Mercia Police.
If possible, please break down the data by month. If this is too onerous, a yearly total will suffice.

The number of domestic abuse cases recorded by West Mercia Police which included stalking as a factor.
Caveat: Searches have been completed for all crimes that have been marked as Domestic Related. The first table shows the total of crimes which have “Stalking” as the Primary Offence Group”. The second table shows the total of crimes which have “Stalking” as an included classification. For guidance around how and when Primary and Included Classifications are used please refer to the Home Office Crime Recording Rules. (Crime recording rules for frontline officers and staff). All Crimes are unique; there are none that are recorded in both data sets.
