I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 10th July 2026. Please find below the response to your request:
I request the following information for the Worcestershire policing area for the most recent 12-month period available.
Please provide:
- The total number of recorded domestic abuse offences.
- A breakdown of suspects/offenders by recorded ethnicity (using self-defined ethnicity where available, or officer-defined ethnicity if self-defined ethnicity is unavailable).
- A breakdown of victims by recorded ethnicity using the same ethnicity categories.
- The number of records where the suspect’s ethnicity was recorded as:
* Unknown
* Not stated
* Not recorded
* Any other equivalent category.
- A copy of the ethnicity categories used by West Mercia Police when recording this information.
- Please indicate whether the ethnicity data provided is self-defined, officer-defined, or a combination of both.

West Mercia Police have conducted searches and hold the information below in response to your request.
Caveats:
Some crimes may not have a linked victim/suspect, some may have more than one. The number of crimes therefore does not match the number of victims/suspects.
The same person may be linked as a victim/suspect to more than one investigation within the same 12 months period. The tables show the totals where each suspect and each victim are shown once for each crime they are linked to in that respective role and the totals where each person has been counted once within the 12 month period. The data sets have not been cross referenced and therefore if a person has been both a suspect and a victim within the 12 months, they will be included in both all the tables.
