I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 14th July 2026. Please find below the response to your request:
I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information:
- Data about sexual offences committed by taxi and Uber drivers across the last to three years. These crimes do not necessarily have to be committed during the journey - it can also be the case of the passenger(s) having been sexually attacked after they had left the vehicle. We'd need numbers for the last 2-3 years to estimate if there has been a rise of these crimes - and if possible, also the number of those instances where it ended with the taxi/Uber driver serving a sentence.
