I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 11^th March 2026.  Please find below the response to your request:

Please set out the data as annual totals for the previous two years (11 March 2024 - 10 March 2025, and 11 March 2025 - 10 March 2026):

1. The number of vehicle theft offences recorded
2. The number of vehicle theft offences recorded, split by whether or not the vehicle stolen was a motorbike
3. The number of vehicle theft offences recorded where a motorbike was stolen, split by whether or not a suspect was identified. Where they were identified, please provide those figures split by whether the suspect was under 18 years old, or 18 and over.

1. The number of vehicle theft offences recorded where a motorbike was stolen, split by whether or not a suspect was identified. Where they were identified, please provide those figures split by whether the suspect was under 18 years old, or 18 and over.

The table with breakdown of the ages of the suspects is higher than the table with the no. of motorcycle theft offences with at least suspect identified, for the reasons that each offence could have multiple suspects.  Please also be aware that suspects who commit more than one offence appear multiple times in the age group table.

Please note that if the theft incident summary solely refers to the make and model of a motorbike and does not specifically reference that it is a motorbike/motorcycle then it will be excluded from the query results. 

Please also note that the results exclude vehicles stolen as part of another offence (eg residential burglary).
